The City Council met in a special session at 6:15 p.m. in Room 305 of the City/County Government Building. Council President Siggers called the meeting to order.
RESOLUTION NO. 952 - RESTRICTING ACTION BY THE CITY OF SALISBURY AGAINST SALISBURY FIRE COMPANY #2 UNTIL FURTHER NEGOTIATIONS ARE SCHEDULED
Mr. Scott moved and Mrs. Polk seconded to approve Resolution No. 952. Ms. Siggers presented Resolution No. 952 restricting any action by the City of Salisbury against Salisbury Fire Company #2 until further negotiations were scheduled among Salisbury Fire Company #2, the Salisbury City Council and the mayor.
Following a discussion on the necessity of this Resolution, Ms. Siggers suggested an amendment to the fourth paragraph, second line, to read ... City personnel take any action, including hostile action, to volunteer .... (inserted words are underlined). Mr. Scott moved to amend Resolution No. 952 by changing the fourth paragraph, second line, as suggested by Ms. Siggers (...City personnel take any action, including hostile action, to volunteer...). Mrs. Polk seconded the motion. After further discussion, the amendment passed unanimously.
Resolution No. 952, as amended, passed unanimously.
With no further business, the special meeting adjourned at 7:10 p.m.
