RESOLUTION NO. 1269
A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND ACCEPTING FUNDS AWARDED THROUGH A GRANT FROM THE GOVERNOR’S OFFICE OF CRIME CONTROL AND PREVENTION FOR THE COLLABORATIVE SUPERVISION AND FOCUSED ENFORCEMENT PROGRAM FOR THE CHURCH STREET AREA.
WHEREAS, the City of Salisbury submitted a grant application requesting continuance of funding under the Collaborative Supervision and Focused Enforcement Program to the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salisbury‘s grant application was approved by the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention to provide funding for the following programs; and
School Resource Officer/Wicomico Middle School/Sheriff’s Dept. $35,988
Community Policing/Salisbury Police Department $21,405
Neighborhood Advocate – Lead Coordinator/Mayor’s Office $ 8,000
East Salisbury Elementary School/Summer Program $ 3,000
Wicomico Middle School/WISE After-School Program $ 3,000
Teens On The Go/Grace United Methodist Church $ 3,000
Rahab’s Place/Rahab Services for Prostitutes $ 1,300
Total Award $75,693
WHEREAS, the grant was awarded to the City of Salisbury;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on this 11th day of July that the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland does hereby accept the funds awarded from the Governor’s Office of Crime Control and Prevention; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor Barrie P. Tilghman is authorized and empowered to execute any and all documents required for receipt of said funds.
THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and duly passed at a meeting of the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland held on July 11, 2005, and is to become effective immediately.
