RESOLUTION NO. 1322

RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF
WHEREAS, the City of Salisbury applied for grant funding under the Emergency Shelter Grant application request to the Department of Housing and Community Development; and
WHEREAS, the City of Salisbury applied for funding on behalf of Diakonia, Inc. a homeless shelter located in Ocean City, MD, which provides services to residents of the City of Salisbury and the Village of Hope; and
WHEREAS, a grant in the amount of $16,000.00 was awarded to the City of Salisbury, $10,000 for Diakonia, Inc. and $6,000 for the Village of Hope;
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, on this 14th day of November that the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland does hereby accept the funds awarded from the Department of Housing and Community Development in the amount outlined above; and
BE IT FURTHER RESOLVED, that Mayor Barrie P. Tilghman is authorized and empowered to execute any and all documents required for receipt of said funds.
THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and duly passed at a meeting of the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland held on November 14, 2005, and is to become effective immediately.
