RESOLUTION NO. 1349

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND AUTHORIZING THE MAYOR TO SIGN AN AGREEMENT TO AMEND THE EXISTING SALISBURY WICOMICO WIDE AREA NETWORK RESOURCES AGREEMENT TO INCLUDE THE CITY OF FRUITLAND.

WHEREAS, the City is a member of an existing Wide Area Network Resource Sharing Agreement with Wicomico County and the Wicomico County Board of Education; and

WHEREAS, the above referenced Network Sharing Agreement permits amendment of said agreement to add other government agencies upon a unanimous approval of the City of Salisbury, Wicomico County, and the Wicomico Board of Education; and

WHEREAS, the City of Fruitland, MD has requested that they be permitted access to the Salisbury -Wicomico Cooperative Network Wicomico County, MD at their own expense and the that City of Fruitland has facilities whose data network connection would be of benefit for both the City of Salisbury and Wicomico County; and

WHEREAS, the City Council has determined that it is in the best interest of the City to amend this Agreement permitting the City of Fruitland access to this Network ; and

WHEREAS, the City of Fruitland agrees to abide by all of the rules and policies designated in the original Agreement

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED that the Salisbury City Council authorizes the Mayor to sign the attached amendment permitting the City of Fruitland to participate as a member of the combined Cooperative Agreement to share a common and private Wide Area Network backbone.

THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and duly passed at a meeting of the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland held on ____ day of ___________, 2006 and is to become effective immediately upon adoption.
