RESOLUTION  NO.  1352

 

 

A RESOLUTION OF THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND TO APPROVE THE RENEWAL OF THE AGREEMENT AUTHORIZING SALISBURY NEIGHBORHOOD HOUSING SERVICE AS THE LEVEL 1 ADMINISTRATOR OF THE SPECIAL LOAN PROGRAMS FOR THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND.

 

WHEREAS, the Maryland Department of Housing and Community Development (DHCD) provides funding to local municipalities for various Special Loan Programs including, but not limited to, the Maryland Housing Rehabilitation Program (MHRP), the Indoor Plumbing Program (IPP), the Lead Hazard Reduction Grant and Loan Program (LHRGLP) and the Special Targeted Applicant Rehabilitation (STAR) program; and

 

WHEREAS, the Council of the City of Salisbury wishes the City to continue to participate in these programs, as they have in the past, in order to utilize these available funding opportunities to improve the quality of life for City residents; and,

 

WHEREAS, the City is authorized to appoint a local agency to administer these programs for the City of Salisbury; and

 

WHEREAS, Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Service (SNHS) has been serving as the administrator of these programs for the City of Salisbury since 1996.

 

NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT RESOLVED, that the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland does hereby authorize the renewal of the agreement with Salisbury Neighborhood Housing Service (SNHS) as the Level 1 Administrator for the Special Loan Programs.

 

THE ABOVE RESOLUTION was introduced and duly passed at a meeting of the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland held on January 23, 2006, and is to become effective immediately.
