City Clerk Brenda Colegrove, Executive Officer John Pick, Director of Procurement & Parking Carol Turner, Deputy Public Works Director Chip Mesick
The City Council convened in a Special Meeting on June 28, 2000 at 4:00 p.m. in Room 302 of the City/County Government Building for the sole purpose of approving a Change Order with BFI for the recycling contract.
Director of Procurement & Parking Carol Turner provided a brief overview of the negotiations held with BFI to extend the recycling contract an additional six months. The change order to the contract for the six-month period from July - December amounts to $116,563.20. Extending BFI's contract will allow time for the City to get its own recycling program in place.
After discussion, including the concerns with multi-family units, Ms. Siggers, Mrs. Polk, Mr. Scott and Mr. Stacey voted in favor of extending the BFI contract for an additional six months. Mr. Webster voted nay.
With no further business, the Special Meeting adjourned at 4:20 p.m.
