City of Salisbury Curbside Recycling
Curbside recycling is a FREE service to all City of Salisbury residents who utilize the City's once a week, curbside trash collection. Curbside recycling is an easy and convenient way to recycle household waste, because recyclables are picked up right at your curb. City curbside recycling is collected on the same day as curbside trash collection.
A City of Salisbury, blue recycling bin is required. To have a free, blue bin delivered, call the City of Salisbury Recycling Coordinator at 410-548-3177. Place all recyclables into the blue bin, if additional bins are needed, call the recycling coordinator. If more than one bin is used, it is strongly recommended that recyclables are separated as much as possible. This ensures pick up in a timely and orderly fashion.
Recyclables will only be picked up from the curb. However, if you are elderly or handicapped, or for some valid reason, cannot place the recycling or trash on the curb, call the recycling coordinator to make other arrangements.
Place recycling bins and trash receptacles on the curb, before 6:00 a.m., on your designated pick-up day, to ensure timely and orderly pick up. For public safety, recycling bins and trash receptacles must be removed by 11:00 p.m., the same day. Please rinse blue bins and other recycling containers weekly.
If for some reason your recyclables are not picked-up from your curb, there is a possibility that a non-recyclable somehow ended up in your bin. If this is the case, please reevaluate the City Curbside Materials Accepted brochure, check this site for the acceptable materials, or call the recycling coordinator.
If you have any questions concerning recycling or trash collection call City of Salisbury Recycling Coordinator at 410-548-3177.
WHY RECYCLE!
When waste is recycled it preserves natural resources, reduces pollution, saves energy and saves space in landfills. Landfills cost millions of taxpayer dollars to build, therefore, increasing the life span of the landfill by recycling, saves taxpayer dollars.
Help preserve the Earth for the children of today and of the future. After all, we do not inherit the Earth from our parents; we borrow it from our children!
Smart Shopping - purchasing items with pre-recycled and reduced packaging. The packaging is 100% recycled material, therefore, wasting less material and saving new raw materials. It's a full circle. Instead of plastic grocery bags, use reusable cloth bags.
