             The mission of the Department of Building, Permitting & Inspections is dedicated to the service of the Community by ensuring that the health, safety and welfare of the citizens of Salisbury are addressed through its responsibilities in the administration and enforcement of adopted building construction, plumbing, zoning and fire codes of the City of Salisbury.  In its commitment to protect structures and those occupying such structures, the Building Department strives to afford an efficient and responsive environment by providing consistent, organized and courteous service to the public.

 The Department issues commercial and residential building permits, plumbing and well permits, demolition and grading permits, temporary trailer permits, sign permits and zoning authorization letters.  The Department conducts extensive plan reviews and prepares reports on building, plumbing and fire code issues that may concern public health and safety.
