a. Firefighter/Paramedics Robert Quillen, Danny Long,
Shirley
Reddish, Kim Matthews, Daniel Webster, David Brimer, and
Christopher O’Barsky completed the mandatory ninety six (96)
hours of continuing education for renewal of their Paramedic
license during the quarter.
B. Fire Prevention and Education
1. Fire Department personnel visited the Kent Street
neighborhood as
part of the “After the Fire is Out Program” and issued smoke
alarms, batteries and also inspected smoke alarms that were already
in place during the quarter.

C. Community Service
1. Six (6) CRP (Cario-pulmonary Resuscitation) Classes
were taught this quarter.
2. The following students are doing their clinical rotations
on our
Paramedic Units during the quarter:

b. Salisbury University – Athletic Training Students
c. Parkside Career and Technology Center – Health Occupations
d. Parkside Career and Technology Center – Criminal Justice
3. Salisbury Fire/EMS Paramedics conducted medical standby’s
and
ambulance demonstrations for the following during the quarter:
a. Salisbury University Athletic Training Classes
b. PRMC Kiddie Tours at Hospital Emergency Room
c. Delmarva YMCA – Race/Walk for Cancer
D. Home Fire Safety Inspections
1. During the quarter members of the inspection team
visited/inspected
twenty-five (25) homes in the community.
2. Department personnel have issued/installed thirty-six
(36) smoke
detectors to members of the community during the quarter.
E. Salisbury Underwater Recovery Unit
1. Members of the dive team had one hundred one (101)
man-hours for
the quarter.
2. Training dives, missions, and meetings for the dive
team consisted of
the following:
a. Three (3) Meetings
b. YMCA Pool (Two (2) Training Swim Tests)
c. Equipment Maintenance (Training)
d. Full Face Mask Class (Training)
e. Salisbury University Pool (Training –Skill Review)
F. Note Worthy Events
1. Chaplain J. Harvey Dixon performs many services for
Wicomico County and the
State of Maryland. Heprovides Pastoral care for our members, Wicomico
County
and other fire departments in the State of Maryland, attends various meetings
in
Wicomico County and the State of Maryland, assists at accidents and
house fire
alarms, hospital visitations, funerals and death notifications.He also
works with the
American Red Cross and the community in helping citizens in emergency situations.
