c. Firefighter/Paramedics Rob Quillen, Shirley Reddish, Kim Tull,
Daniel Long, and Christopher O’Barsky completed the mandatory
ninety six (96) hours of continuing education for renewal of their
Paramedic license.
d. All career personnel attended an “EMS Documentation Class
taught by our new EMS Billing Company, Medical Claim Aid.
e. Department personnel toured/preplanned/site familiarization the

B. Fire Prevention Education
1. Department personnel visited the following neighborhoods as part of
the “After the Fire Program” during the quarter:

C. Community Services
1. The CPR Training Center taught a total of five (5) CPR (Cardio-
Pulmonary Resuscitation) Classes during the quarter to the general
public.
2. The following students have started their clinical rotations on our
Paramedic Units during the quarter:

3. Salisbury Fire/EMS personnel conducted medical stand-bys/
ambulance demos/presentations for the following during the quarter:

D. Home Fire Safety Inspections
1. During the quarter members of the inspection team visited one
hundred forty four (144) homes. Eighteen (18) home fire safety
inspections were completed.
2. Department personnel have issued thirty five (35) smoke detectors and
three (3) batteries for members of the community during the quarter.
E. Underwater Rescue Team
1. Training dives, missions, and meetings for the team consisted of the
following for the quarter:
a. Three (3) monthly meetings
b. Annual skills review (Training)
c. Certification Dives for five (5) members in
d. Dry Suit Refresher (Training)
e. Body recovery
at Salisbury Marina (
f. Evidence recovery for Salisbury Police Department on Johnson

F. Note Worthy Events
1. The department is continuing to look for someone to fill the position
of chaplain left vacant by the retirement of Chaplain J. Harvey Dixon.
2. The department held their Annual Banquet for members and guest at
the Wicomico Youth and Civic Center on January 15, 2005. Five (5)
Twenty Year Medals and one (1) Thirty Year Rocker was presented to
members of the department.
3. The department placed three (3) new Medic Units in-service at a
ceremony on Friday, February 18, 2005.
