ORDINANCE NO. 1915
AN ORDINANCE ENACTED BY THE CITY COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND TO AMEND SECTION 12.32.020 OF CHAPTER 12.32 – PEDESTRIAN MALLS - TO DELETE WEST MAIN STREET FROM MARKET STREET TO DIVISION STREET AS A PEDESTRIAN MALL FOR AN INDEFINITE PERIOD.
WHEREAS the City Council amended the City Code in Section 12.32.020 to delete West Main Street from Market Street to Division Street as a pedestrian mall and to reopen as a street for two years and Section 10.08.010(A) to reflect the speed limit changes effective December 1, 2001 under the authority of Ordinance No. 1828; and
WHEREAS the City Council desires to extend the period of street opening established in accordance with Ordinance No. 1828 and as amended by Ordinance 1889.
NOW, THEREFORE, BE IT ENACTED AND ORDAINED by the Council of the City of Salisbury, Maryland, in regular session, that Section 12.32.020 – Pedestrian Malls Established of the City Code is hereby amended to read:
The following streets, alleys, or public places in the City are declared and established as pedestrian malls:
A. West Main Street from Market Street to Division Street.
West Main Street from Market Street to Division Street shall be reopened as a street for an indefinite period of three years beginning December 1, 2001 through December 1, 2003 with a report submitted by the Office of the Mayor to the City Council no later than November 1st on an annual basis.
AND BE IT FURTHER ENACTED AND ORDAINED BY THE COUNCIL OF THE CITY OF SALISBURY, MARYLAND, the changes set forth in this Ordinance shall take effect upon final passage.
THIS ORDINANCE was introduced and read at a meeting of the Council of the City of Salisbury held on the ___ day of _______, 2004, and having been published as required by law, in the meantime, was finally passed at its meeting on the ____ day of _________, 2004.
