Introduction.  Although we have some Public Works employees on 24-hour, seven-day shifts, we go to reduced staffing levels on ten holidays during the year.  The reduced staffing impacts on services such as trash pick-up, bulk pick-up, recycling, and all offices that are normally open to the public.  These holidays are:     

Services.

• Recycling: Your recycling bin will be picked up on your scheduled garbage collection day.

   

• Bulk Pickup:  After 4:30 p.m. and on weekends, leave a message on (410) 548-3177. Give your name, address, phone number, and items to be picked up.

Christmas Day - Observed - Friday, December 24, 2010
 - No pick-ups will be done up on Friday, December 24, 2010.  Friday garbage and recyclables will be picked up on Monday, December 27, 2010.
 - To schedule a yard waste and/or cardboard pick-up, please call the City Service Center at 410-548-3177 before 6 a.m. on Monday, December 27, 2010.

New Year's Day - OBSERVED Friday, December 31, 2010

 - No pick-ups will be done on Friday, January 1, 2011.  Next bulk pick-up will be on Monday, January 8, 2011.  Friday garbage and recycling will be picked up on Monday, January 4, 2011.

LIVE CHRISTMAS TREE PICK-UP WILL BE JANUARY 17 - JANUARY 21 ONLY

Presidents Day - Monday, February 21, 2011

FREE SPRING BULK PICK-UP - MARCH 15 - MARCH 19, 2011

  This does not affect Monday vegetative pick-up.  The household bulk items will be picked up on the day of your regular garbage pick-up.  You must call the City Service Center at 410-548-3177 to be put on the pick-up list and to find out what types of items are excluded.
