Introduction.  sweeping reduces street litter and trash that accumulates on the street, and is instrumental in reducing trash that enters the stormwater system.

NOTICE:: DO NOT rake or blow leaves into the street for sweepers to pick up. Their job is picking up litter, trash and dirt only!

Street Sweeping Operations.   

• The street sweeping task is challenging with over 110 miles of City streets.  Balancing the task's efficiency and economics,  the Department developed four levels of service based on the cleaning frequency.

Schedule.   The street sweeping schedule web page provides City street listing with the level of service and routes.   We do not sweep streets during holidays listed on the Holiday Schedule web site.  Also, the holiday schedules are sent to newspapers, radio and TV stations throughout the year.
