Introduction.  Street sweeping reduces street litter and trash that accumulates on the street.  The City's  and    Another very important street sweeping function is the reduction of trash entering the stormwater system.

Street Sweeping Operations.   

• The street sweeping task is challenging with over 110 miles of City streets.  Balancing the task's efficiency and economics,  the Department developed four levels of service based on the cleaning frequency.  These levels of service are street sweeping once a week, every two weeks, every three weeks, and every four weeks.

• We have three street sweeper operators and four street sweepers to accomplish the task.  They are pictured below:

Schedule.   The street sweeping schedule web page provides City street listing with the level of service and routes.   We do not sweep streets during holidays listed on the Holiday Schedule web site.  Also, the holiday schedules are sent to newspapers, radio and TV stations throughout the year.
