 Traffic and Safety Technical Committee

              

Introduction.  The Traffic and Safety Technical Committee was recommended by Mayor Tilghman as Resolution No. 745 and approved by the City Council on November 27, 2000.  A companion resolution, No. 744, established a Traffic and Safety Advisory Committee.  The Technical Committee consists of experts from the various governmental agencies and would provide technical advice to the Traffic and Safety Advisory Committee.  The Advisory Committee is composed of community representatives and would consider traffic and pedestrian safety issues from the citizen's perspectives 

  

Purpose.  To provide technical advice to the City of Salisbury Traffic and Safety Advisory Committee, the Mayor, and the City Council, on changes needed in the City's transportation network to improve vehicular and pedestrian safety and the efficiency of traffic movement.

      

Membership.  The Committee would consist of:

  • Director of Public Works, the Committee Chair 

  • Police Chief, the Committee Vice-Chair

  •  Fire Chief

  • Planning and Zoning Director

  • Wicomico County Public Works Director

  • Maryland State Highway Administration Representative
